The Spirit® lasers set new standards for femtosecond lasers in high-precision industrial and medical device manufacturing. The Spirit family includes three product lines, ranging from the very compact and cost efficient Spirit One™ with 8 W output power, ideal for medical device manufacturing, to the Spirit High Energy (HE), with > 120 μJ in pulse energy and up to 30W of average power best suited for high-aspect ratio hole drilling, up to the Spirit 100 with more than 100 W output power offering best-in-class beam quality for cutting thin films at high throughput and quality.
Customers benefit from the shortest industrially available pulse duration, exceptional pointing stability and superior beam quality which in turn enables machining complex and challenging parts with superior precision and quality with literally no heat affected zone (HAZ). The Spirit lasers are designed for industrial use and offer reliable and robust 24/7 operation with low cost of ownership.
The Spirit platform offers impressive versatility and performance. Common features such as output pulse gating, output power modulation, and burst mode as well as best-in-class beam quality and pointing stability are combined with a wide range of output power and pulse energy. This broad variety in performance the Spirit platform offers allows each customer to match the femtosecond laser suited best for their application and budget.
Second harmonic generation (SHG) is available for each product line and offers a maximum output power of >50 W at a wavelength of 515 nm. At this shorter wavelength, machining even the finest features is possible at the highest quality, depending on the material, also at higher speed compared to that obtained with other, current technologies.
The Spirit lasers are designed and tested to rigorous quality standards for reliable 24/7 operation. For Spirit 100, the built-in data logging and analysis capability allows monitoring of all relevant laser parameters over the life time of the system. As such, this represents an indispensable diagnostics tool for service and preventive maintenance which significantly enhances uptime and thus productivity of the tool.

2. Additional, pre-calibrated repetition rates upon request; please contact Spectra- Physics. For Spirit 70/100 the maximum pre-calibrated repetition rate is 30 MHz,
for Spirit HE 16 and Spirit HE 30, the maximum pre-calibrated repetition rate is 1 MHz.
3. Pulse duration tunability is optional; if implemented, pulse duration is software tunable.
4. Conversion efficiency for SHG module will be lower for longer pulse width. Pulse width tunability not specified for 520 nm output.
